Some Notes on Glamour Photography
Read this entire page before contacting me
for a glamour photography session. Schedule a Glamour Modeling session by
emailing me at pywrit@pywrit.com or pywrit@msn.com.
Include what your
limits are (no nudity; implied, partial or full nudity), what type of session
you want (swimsuit, lingerie, boudoir) and where you want your session to take
place. It also helps if you tell me what your goals are and your experience, if
any.
You are a daring person. You are not
inhibited or self-conscious. You you want photos that are sexy -
or naughty - or perhaps a shade on the seductive
or sultry side - or all of the above. That is what glamour photography is all about - creating
an image that is enticing and alluring, that screams "I am hot! Check
me out!". Glamour photos range from tame to
wild, from showing cleavage to showing it all. Glamour photos appear
everywhere - from calendars to car magazines to men's magazines and
posters. It is an opportunity to show that you are "more than just a
pretty face."
I charge $75/hour for glamour
photography. That is a very reasonable fee. If I feel you will benefit my
portfolio, I may consider a TFCD agreement or a discounted price. I shoot
at a location you provide so that you will be more comfortable. If
you need it, I will provide a notebook with several hundred poses you can
choose from at the start of the session. I want you to end up with photos
you will love.
Here are some of the facts concerning
glamour photography:
-
Glamour and nude models must be at least 18 years of
age and provide a photo ID at the time of the shoot.
-
Glamour modeling is about being as sexy as you
possibly can. Regardless of all the thoughts and ideas and concepts of
what "glamour modeling" is, it always comes down to one
basic concept - creating sexual arousal. The idea is to make a guy say "Wow! She's HOT! I
want her!" It's all about fulfilling fantasies visually. Nudity
to some degree is a staple of the form, but it is not required. Keep in
mind that some
women can turn a man on with just a swish of the hip or a flirtatious
glance over the shoulder. That is every bit as important.
-
Artistic Nude modeling is more about form of the body rather
than sex.
-
On the day of your shoot, wear
loose fitting clothing that will not leave any marks on your skin.
This means nothing with elastic bands or binding. We don't want your
shots ruined by an ugly line around your waist or on your shoulders.
-
Think of glamour modeling in the terms of movie
ratings. PG = A bit of skin and a slight suggestiveness, but no nudity
- not even a part of the nipple. PG-13 = Very light or suggested
nudity (ie: a lot of cleavage, maybe just a hint of a nipple or the
butt showing) but with the focus of the image on the face. No
exposure of the genital region. R = Partial to complete nudity, panty shots
and lots of sexual suggestiveness. Genitals may be exposed but the
focus of the image is on the upper body (breasts and face) and may
include touching or drawing attention to the breast area. NC17 (Adults
Only) = Partial to full nudity. Fondling one's own breasts or those of
someone else. Drawing attention to or touching the genitalia
suggestively without actually engaging in sexual activity. There may
be "implied" sexual activity (the viewer knows something is
going on outside of the photo, but the details are not shown). X = Complete
exposure of the genitalia. May include (and often does)
engaging in actual or simulated sexual activity. Close-ups of
genitalia. The line between NC17 and X is a fine one indeed as can be
the difference between art and pornography.
-
I prefer to keep it to an R rating or less and
absolutely won't shoot anything that would garner
more than an "NC17".
-
A glamour model needs to have a lovely face, a great
smile, and a good body. By good body, I mean she has to have a
pleasing figure, be physically fit, wear at least a b cup bra or bigger, have nearly
flawless skin, great hair, good legs, a nice butt, an hourglass shape.
Your waist should be at least 4" less than your hip and bust
measurements. There should be no obnoxious scars or birthmarks. You should
have no flab or sag anywhere on your body.
-
The more playful and teasing your personality, the better the
session is likely to be.
-
Clothing worn in glamour modeling often includes the
following: tight jeans, tight shirts, micro-mini skirts, short shorts,
bikinis, and sheer lingerie.
-
Your hair, make-up fingernails, and toenails need to
be perfect.
-
If you are the least bit embarrassed about bending
over so your panties show or leaning forward until your breasts are spilling out of your shirt, this is not for you.
-
Session photos can be independent of one another with
each pose being set individually, or they can be a series of photos
such as a striptease.
-
The amount of nudity is completely up to
the model. This is about being sexy, and you can be terrifically sexy
without showing everything . . . or anything.
-
If you are doing lingerie, or any other type of
clothing for that matter, make sure everything matches. I once saw a
photo of a beautiful model in pink and orange panties and a white bra.
What could have been a great image came across and completely
amateurish.
-
Any place you choose for your session should offer
plenty of privacy. When I say privacy, I mean from the general public.
Gawkers and spectators can distract a model's focus. And I don't even
need to go into the legal consequences, do I?
-
If you want to have someone with you, great. Just
make sure it is someone who will not inhibit your modeling.
Boyfriends, spouses and parents are discouraged as they can greatly
inhibit a model's performance. A close friend you trust is a better
choice.
-
If you want to model with a friend or two, that is
fine. But remember, keep it classy.
-
A small tattoo or two or minor piercings are okay, but
nothing more.
-
I do not do "motel room" shoots. This is a
trait of cheap and raunchy. The only exception is if you are willing
to spring for a really nice, classy motel room like Embassy Suites.
