The Family Reunion Portrait Package

A Family Reunion Portrait Package is a unique way to get photos of the entire extended family while you are all in one place. It is fun and documents the time you get to spend together. Memories of times like these are few and far between, so make sure you don't miss the opportunity to record them. The package starts at $300 for up to 20 people. Additional family members are $20 each. The session will last as long as is required. The price includes one DVD. Additional DVDs may be purchased for $10 each by individual family members and will be mailed directly to them.

The session will include the following portraits:

  • Individual portraits of each family member.

  • Individual family portraits (parents with their direct children).

  • Sibling Portraits (brothers and sisters together).

Then, let the celebration begin. As you begin to eat and celebrate the presence of your family, I will wander around documenting the celebration by taking photos of everyone just being themselves (this is generally referred to as journalistic style photography). I will also be ready for any special photo or portrait requests.

Some ideas for requests include generational photos (grandmother, mother, daughter, and granddaughter in a single portrait), husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend photos, all brothers and all sisters photos, friends of the family, group photos, etc. Whatever shot you want, I'll take it.

How a family reunion portrait session works:
This example is based around the outdoor reunion get together, but can be applied to other settings as well. First, plan to shoot the portraits at least 3 hours before your dinner or celebration. This gives me the time to get all the various portrait shots and to transfer them to the computer. Then, as the celebration begins, I will move through the people getting candid shots of various individuals and groups as they interact. It may be them hanging around the BBQ, the keg, telling stories, laughing, reminiscing, eating, kids playing, or whatever. During this time, I will also be available if anyone has special photo they want. This part of the session has no defined length, but is generally 1-2 hours.
